Music Finland järjestää WeJazz-festivaalin yhteydessä paneelikeskustelun otsikolla “How to build an international jazz career”. Keskustelussa käsitellään kansainvälisen uran rakentamista erityisesti jazzmuusikon näkökulmasta.
Tapahtuma järjestetään 3.12. Korjaamolla, Helsingin Töölössä. Paneelin jälkeen on tarjolla kevyttä lounasta ja verkostoitumista. Tilaisuuteen mahtuu rajallinen määrä ihmisiä ja paikat täytetään ilmoittautumisjärjestyksessä.

In this panel you’ll hear practical do’s and dont’s about export - maybe even a secret code on how to break through.

BAYO and Howling Jazz!!! A division of Bark at Your Owner are signing new artists in the music styles of jazz, emo, punk, singer-songwriter-bedroom pop with electronica and music that has the
element of fuck you attitude in its core.
John migrated to Sweden from the California Desert in 1984 as an exchange student. Upon
arriving in Sweden, he started managing bands and worked as an intern at Radium Records in
Gothenburg. A short time later, he was employed as Head of International at MNW Records
in Vaxholm where he worked up to 1989-1999, licensing music and artist internationally.
During his tenure there, he also worked A&R for the MNW Zone Label.
John is one of the founding members of Playground Music Scandinavia. He was the Head of International for many years completing licensing deals for many artists (The Rasmus etc). He also was Head of Playground Music Publishing & Sync Licensing. As of 2022, John is the the Exclusive Sync Licensing Manager for Playground Music Scandinavia catalogue which includes: Ace of Base, Koop, Mando Diao and much more licensing music into film, TV shows- series, games, podcast and advertisements.
The Label’s Cloud has worked with: Radium Records, Cloud Machine Music, Stormstreet Records, MNW Music Group, MNW ZONE, MADpups, Playground Music Publishing AB, Playground Music Scandinavia AB (and affiliates).

Nabil Ayers is an American music industry entrepreneur, author and musician. With over 30 years of experience in the music industry, Ayers is the current U.S. President of the UK-based Beggars Group of record labels, assuming the role in early 2022 after his work for 4AD where he had served as the label's U.S. General Manager since 2009. Ayers is continually named one of Billboard Magazine's Indie Power Players, earning a spot on the list each year from 2019-2022.
As a writer, Ayers is a frequent contributor to The New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, People, GQ, Huffington Post, and The Root, among others. His writing is often autobiographic, and touches on topics of music and race. Ayers' debut memoir, My Life in the Sunshine, was published by Viking Press on June 7, 2022. The book focuses on Ayers' relationship with his father, the jazz musician Roy Ayers, growing up as a mixed-race person in America, and Ayers' life in the music industry
Ayers co-founded Seattle’s Sonic Boom Records store with his business partner, Jason Hughes in 1997. Sonic Boom has been named one of the best record stores in America by Rolling Stone, The Wall Street Journal and SPIN Magazine.
In 2002, Ayers founded the independent record label The Control Group where he has released music by Lykke Li, Cate Le Bon, and El Perro del Mar. In 2018, Ayers founded the independent record label Valley of Search to reissue his uncle Alan Braufman's album of the same name. The label has gone on to release music by Tomas Nordmark and Patricia Brennan.
As a drummer, he has performed with various acts, most recently The Long Winters and Tommy Stinson.
