Music Finland ja MTV Push Helsinki tuovat Helsinkiin neljä kansainvälistä luovan alan ammattilaista, joiden työ on “saada musiikki näyttämään hyvältä”. Ohjelma alkaa ammattilaisten puheenvuoroilla, joita seuraa Q&A. Ammattilaisia voi myös tavata keskustelujen jälkeen kahden kesken tai pienryhmissä.

Albert Schilcher – VP Talent & Music MTV International

Albert heads up the MTV international Talent and Music team, and is responsible for creating MTVs music strategy and all of its music events and programming, from global awards shows like the MTV EMAs, storytelling shows such as The Ride through to MTV Push, MTVs International new music platform. Albert also works closely with record labels and is responsible for MTV’s relationship with the music industry.   

Albert will be talking about how MTV makes music look good though music curation, music story telling and events and live performance.  Albert will be showcasing examples of all of the above and explaining MTV's music and live events strategy.

 

Alex Noble – Fashion and Costume Designer

Alex is a London based designer and artist whose work spans clothing and costume design, 2D art, 3D installation and set design. Alex was first picked up by the likes of Nicola Formichetti for VOGUE and Dazed & Confused, which has since led him to work with mega music pop stars like Lady Gaga, creating some of her most iconic costumes, Rita Ora, Florence Welch, Paloma Faith and Kylie Minogue.

Alex will be talking about his career and experiences to date, before exploring the role that costume and fashion plays within live performance and the creation of an artists character.

Gideon Berger and Stephen Gallagher from Block 9 – Set Design

Block 9 are world leaders in radical sent and environment design constructing complete temporary realities for the live music industry – from music festivals such as Glastonbury to artists such as Skrillex and Lana Del Rey. Block 9 are also active in working with young people wanting to develop their careers in the arts and creative industries.

Block 9 will be introducing themselves and their work and will be showcasing examples of what they do including their multi-venue field at the Glastonbury festival.  They will also be talking about how their work integrates with music and the role set design can play in 'making music look good'.

Sami Joensuu – Film and Music Video Director

Sami grew up in South America, making his first documentary about Latin America at the age of six. Since then he has worked in creative planning in advertising, then onto directing over more recent years. He is now based in Sweden, working with clients and artists around Europe and North America. Sami has directed a number of Redrama’s music videos who is one of the artists playing at MTV Push Helsinki at Circus on 11th September.

Sami's talk will be based around the idea of 'Advertising wont save the world.... but music videos just might', exploring the role of music videos as a medium for positive change.  How have they been used in the past? Do they still have power today?  How can music videos make a difference?
