Indigenous Sámi composer and yoik vocalist Ánnámáret has been added to the official showcase selection at the 2023 edition of WOMEX Worldwide Music Expo. The festival will take place in A Coruña, Spain between October 25th and 29th.

Ánnámáret's music blends electronics, traditional Finnish and Japanese instruments, otherworldly singing. Her musical upbringing was listened to Nordic folk music, especially the Karelian band Värttinä, as well as Sámi groups and artists such as Mari Boine, Wimme, Angelit and Ulla Pirttijärvi, Ánnámáret explains in Music Finland's spotlight article published in 2022.
