Upcoming summer concerts for Finnish world music and folk artists

Johanna Juhola will play a show with her trio at Folkové Prázdniny in Náměšť nad Oslavou, Czech Republic on July 25. She will also have three concerts in Germany with Johanna Juhola Reaktori, starting at Germany’s largest folk and world music festival TFF Rudolstadt 6-7 July. In addition, Johanna Juhola Reaktori is invited to Folk im Schloss in Bad Wildungen on July 27.  On July 28 Juhola will play together with Tango Orchestra Unto at Bardentreffen Nürnberg in Nürnberg.

The Academic Female Choir KYN will perform at Taipei International Choral Festival in Taiwan. The festival takes place from July 27 to August 8 and is organized for the 15th time this year. The choir will be joined by Johanna Juhola and pianist Kirmo Lintinen.

Jaakko Laitinen & Väärä Raha, a Finnish Balkanesque world music group is scheduled for a Macedonian tour between July 18 and 22. On August 8 the group will perform at Varangerfestivalen in Vadsø, Norway.

Kimmo Pohjonen performs at Krakow’s Crossroads Festival in Poland on July 18, followed by an August 8 performance at Detmold Summer Stage in Detmold, Germany.

Värttinä will play at Urkult Festival in Näsåker, Sweden on August 2 and Deerlycke Festival in Deerlycke, Belgium on August 17.

In July Frigg heads to UK for 4 shows, starting on July 24 at The Atkinson in Southport, followed by a show on July 25 in Bury St Edmunds at The Apex. July 26-27 Frigg will perform at Cambridge Folk Festival.

Tsuumi Sound System will perform at Dranouter Festival, Belgium on August 2, followed by Sväng’s performance on August 3. Sväng also have two other shows scheduled for this summer, first in Parthenay, France on July 25 and the second in Zagreb, Croatia on August 1. 

JPP will perform in Bingsjö, Sweden on July 3.
