Three Finnish Composers nominated for Prix de Composition Musicale
Three Finnish composers have been nominated for the Prix de Composition Musicale prize of 75,000 euros. The prize is awarded every three years.
Recently deceased Kaija Saariaho is nominated for her opera Innocence, Outi Tarkiainen for the composition The Ring of Fire and Love, and Jukka Tiensuu for Ihmepari.
Among nominees there are several other internationally renowned composers, such as Anna Thorvaldsdottir, Tristan Murail and Rebecca Saunders. The number of nominated compositions is 33.
The prize is awarded by the Fondation Prince Pierre de Monaco. The winner will be announced next autumn.
