American saxophonist legend Dave Liebman will record material and play shows with Aki Rissanen (piano) Jussi Lehtonen (drums) and Jori Huhtala (bass) in May. The quartet will play Glenn Miller Café in Stockholm on May 23, Natt Jazz Festival in Bergen on May 24 and Kerava Jazz Festival in Finland on May 25. The quartet will play songs by Liebman, Rissanen and Lehtonen.

Rochester International Jazz Festival (New York, USA) keeps introducing great Nordic acts year by year – the Finnish band of the 2013 edition is Eero Koivistoinen Quartet, performing on June 25. The newly found quartet consists of  Eero Koivistoinen (saxophone), Alexi Tuomarila (piano), Jussi Lehtonen (drums) and Jori Huhtala (bass). 

Juhani Aaltonen & Iro Haarla are playing with Kresten Osgood Quartet at Copenhagen Jazz Festival on July 10th.

As a part of Bohemia Jazz Festival in Czech Republic, Kokko Quartet will perform in three cities: first in Prague on July 11th,  followed by Plzeň on July 12th and Domažlice on July 13th.

Sax player Timo Lassy will perform with his quintet outfit at Swingin' Groeningen in the Netherlans on June 14, at Bangen Jazz&Blues in Sweden on 29 June and at the Istanbul Jazz Festival on July 7.

Sid Hille’s Infinita Quintet will play at Berchidda Time in Jazz Festival in Sardegna, Italy in August.

In May, Olavi Louhivuori and Alexi Tuomarila will play together with Mats Eilertsen’s band SkyDive in Norway at Arendal Jazzklubb on May 2 and at Kunstsenteret Kabuso in Øystese on May 3. SkyDive will also play at Bray Jazz Festival in Ireland on May 4. 

Olavi Louhivuori will also play concerts with Swiss artist Susanne Abbuehl, first on May 16 at Sunside, Paris followed by a show on May 25 at AMR, Geneve.
