Jenaer Philharmonie premiers Osmo Tapio Räihälä's new work

In Jena, Germany, the Jenaer Philharmonie has a focus on Finnish music on May 25. Composer Osmo Tapio Räihälä‘s bass clarinet concerto "Claroscuro" will have its world premiere by the orchestra with Volker Hemken.

In addition to Claroscuro, also Jean Sibelius’ Pohjola’s Daughter will be performed in the concert. Watch Osmo Tapio Räihälä talk about his upcoming premiere in Jena on this video clip.

The concert will be conducted by another Finn, Eva Ollikainen, whose international career is on the rise. She has recently conducted the Los Angeles Philharmonic, toured with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and will conduct the BBC Symphony Orchestra in June.
