Ensemble Gamut! featured at Classical:NEXT 2024
Genre-crossing trio Ensemble Gamut! will perform as an official showcase artist at Classical:NEXT 2024. The event will happen in Berlin, Germany between May 13 and 17.
Ensemble Gamut! is a trio consisting of Aino Peltomaa (voice, harp, percussion, electronics), Ilkka Heinonen (jouhikko [the bowed lyre], viola da gamba, G-violone, vocals, electronics) and Juho Myllylä (blockflutes, vocals, electronics). The trio released their debut album UT in 2020 and it was followed by the second full-length RE in 2022.
"Ensemble Gamut! have created their unique sound by combining and daringly rearranging elements from medieval music and Finnish folk songs with improvisation and electronic soundscapes. Their imaginative style has been described as “refreshing, soothing, intriguing and enlightening”.
Ensemble Gamut!'s showcase will take place on Tuesday May 14th at 13:30 in the Colosseum Kino 10 venue.
