Cracow builds bridges to new Finnish music
Muzyka Centrum Art Society from Cracow, Poland, will arrange a festival of Finnish music on 7–9 December. The event is part of a project called Bridges, an international cooperation with new music organizations around Europe, established in 2003 and aiming to combine contemporary composition with music education.
The "Finnish Music Days" will present music by Finnish composers Kalevi Aho, Kaija Saariaho, Jukka Tiensuu and Einojuhani Rautavaara, among others. On programme is also a concert of Finnish electro-acoustic music. The performers include local groups, like the Chamber Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Cracow, as well as Finnish pianist Laura Mikkola.
