Arctic Paradise World & Jazz Event – building new networks

Arctic Paradise World & Jazz Event showcased great new Finnish music and built bridges between world music and jazz professionals from around the world in Helsinki.

Arctic Paradise World & Jazz Event took place 14–16 June 2018. Organised for the first time in 2016 by Music Finland, it was an invitation-only gathering for music professionals. This time, altogether 20 gatekeepers of jazz and world music from around the globe were invited to Helsinki.

The focus is on building networks: the event presented some of the finest Finnish jazz and world music and connect the Finnish and international professionals to create new international partnerships and to strengthen the export possibilities of the two genres.

The group of international guests consisted of agents, promoters, label representatives and decision makers from clubs and festivals.

The showcase concerts were a major part of the programme. Altogether thirteen world music and jazz acts played showcases during the event, located in five different venues. Notice: Wimme & Rinne has unfortunately cancelled and has been replaced by Antti Paalanen.
