Alma collaborates on new Charlie’s Angels theme song featuring Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey
Alma’s latest venture in the world of international songwriting is a collaboration between three of the biggest names in today’s pop.
Alma Miettinen, better known by her mononymous artist name Alma, is credited as one of the songwriters on the new single Don’t Call Me Angel by Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey. The track is a theme song for the upcoming action comedy Charlie’s Angels – the third installment on the popular Charlie’s Angels film series.
The song is produced by Max Martin, with whom Alma shares the songwriting credits, alongside Ilya Salmanzadeh and Savan Kotecha and the artists Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey. Earlier this week Alma posted on her Instagram story, that she has written the lyrics for Don’t Call Me Angel.
Don’t Call Me Angel follows three earlier songs Alma has co-written for Miley Cyrus: Cattitude (feat. RuPaul) and Mother’s Daughter from Cyrus’ latest ep “She is Coming” and her latest solo single Slide Away. Mother’s Daughter climbed to the 54th position on Billboard’s Hot100 in June, while Slide Away upped the ante by peaking at #47 in August.
For the third consecutive year, Alma is a participant in Music Finland's Fast Track export program which aims to support the exports of the most potential names in Finnish music industry. Her first international songwriting camp was Music Finland's Hip Hop Workshop in April 2015, where Alma made the initial contact with her current publisher Sony/ATV Germany.
