Phantom might be dominating your radio in 2013

The story behind Phantom is exciting. Two music lovers, Hanna Toivonen and Tommi Koskinen meet, start writing together and garner international attention. The duo’s melancholy sound comes partially from the same place as someone like the Swedish band Niki & The Dove. What separates Phantom from trend chasers are their excellent songs.

After five shows at Eurosonic Noorderslag this duo has started a buzz among the music professionals. Also the British media seems to have a keen on the duo: First Q Magazine feels that Phantom will “confuse some hung over festival goers with prime early slots... but in a good way”. The magazine listed Phantom as one of the ten “up & coming” acts who will star at this summer's festivals. Then NME noted Phantom as one of the best things they saw at Eurosonic, and finally BBC1 put Phantom right next to Justin Timberlake: “Artists that might be dominating your radio in 2013 including A$AP Rocky, Justin Timberlake and Phantom." BBC1 aired Phantom’s track Kisses on Edith Bowman’s review show… "I feel like I've been hugged by the sky", she said after the track stopped playing.

Phantom’s schedule for this spring is still in the makings and the rumor tells us that they might be heading to studio, but they have confirmed a few shows so far: Tavastia Klubi with LCMDF (6 Feb 2013, Helsinki, Finland), by:Larm Festival (14-16 Feb 2013, Oslo, Norway) and Nordic Delight Festival (2 Mar 2013, Utrecht, Netherlands)
