"View looks set to be the next breakout success from Finland", according to The Line of Best Fit. The 23-year-old is certainly one of the hottest up and coming rap artists currently, thanks to his dark and hypnotic vocals mixed with icy beats that take you to previously unknown places. View's lyrics focus on introspection and personal issues, giving his music a rare and poignant honesty. His debut album is due to be released in spring 2017 via Cargo Records in Germany.

Teksti-TV 666

Is there such a thing as too many guitarists in a band? Teksti-TV 666 think not. Formed three years ago, things have escalated rather quickly for the seven-piece shoe-gazing kraut-punk monster. Armed with no less than five (at times six) electric guitars, Teksti-TV 666 are nowadays one of the most in-demand live acts in Finland, and select performances abroad have caused a storm as well. After a Finnish tour with Kvelertak in the autumn, the band have set their sights on Europe, beginning with a tour in Norway and then at Eurosonic.

Mikko Joensuu

Mikko Joensuu is a singer-songwriter who stands out from the crowd. His first solo album Amen 1 (released in May 2016) taps into the American folk music tradition and classic songwriters like Townes Van Zandt, Lee Hazlewood and Leonard Cohen. The album is all about deep, healing songs that can give the impression of spending time in quiet, intimate surroundings. The arrangements are raw but beautiful, mostly just piano and guitar accompany the Finnish musician's voice, with occasional pedal steel guitars and soothing string sections. Joensuu's follow-up album Amen 2, released six months after the debut, finds inspiration in the big indie rock sounds of Spiritualized and The Jesus and Mary Chain. Part 3 of the trilogy comes out in spring 2017.
