SPOT Festival 2016

28.04.2016 – 01.05.2016

Each year in late spring, around 8,000 guests visit Aarhus to experience between 100 and 200 concerts from new, as well as more established bands and artists from Denmark and the other Nordic countries. Since 1994, SPOT Festival has been a platform for a range of bands and artists, from The Raveonettes and Mew, to MØ and Efterklang, who all used SPOT Festival to launch their international careers.

Music Finland Reception at SPOT Festival 2016
Friday April 29 17:00-18:00 in the SPOT+ area at RadissonBlu

Music Finland is attending SPOT Festival yet again and invites you to connect with the Finnish music industry at a reception for all SPOT+ delegates!

Finnish acts at SPOT Festival are The Hearing, Death Hawks, View and Hisser.

The Hearing

Behind The Hearing is Finnish Ringa Manner. A daydreamer, a romantic, a nerd, and a music enthusiast. All these words fit The Hearing’s music, which is dreaming, experimental and minimalistic pop with non-traditional shapes and sounds. Her inspirations include Owen Pallett, Kate Bush, Tune-Yards, and Freddie Mercury. The debut record “Dorian” was released in 2013 and her second album “Adrian” is in the making.

Death Hawks

With the debut album Death & Decay from 2012 Death Hawks became part of the renaissance that the psychedelic rock of the 60s has enjoyed over the last couple of the years. Since then the the Finnish quartet has become a prominent live act, and with their latest release Sun Future Moon from November they added new dimensions to their musical universe. They are on tour this spring – in Finland and Europe.

“… this is quite clearly a band on the verge of realising their full potential, having already developed more between two albums than most bands manage during their entire lifespans” – The Line of Best Fit
