The event consists of a festival and conference and gathers all the important players in music business from the Nordic territory. By:Larm also hosts the Nordic Music Prize award show where the best Nordic album of the year is announced.
Finnish innovators K-X-P have long identified as being an “anti-band” and as they move onto their third album, III Part 1 & 2, they continue to be so by defying both convention and expectation. For K-X-P, every new record is another layer of skin shed; new territories are broached, areas explored and fresh influences imbued.
Teksti-TV 666 consists of five guitarists, a drummer and a bass player. Yep, you read that correctly.
Known from their energetic live shows, Teksti-TV 666 is definitely one of the most talked about Finnish rock bands in years. The septet has released three EPs full of street credible punk & kraut rock and now they are starting to create buzz outside Finland's borders as well.
Liima is a new band formed by Finnish percussionist Tatu Rönkkö plus Mads Brauer, Casper Clausen and Rasmus Stolberg of Danish act Efterklang.
Their debut album ii (to be released March 18th on 4AD) features songs written in Finland, Berlin, Istanbul and Madeira during four week-long residencies, each place influencing the sound, sometimes literally through field recording and sampling. Every residency ended with a live concert, performing the freshly written songs in front of an audience.
